 I'm Catherine, the person behind CSS Bookkeeping. I have over eight years' experience working in accountancy practice, supporting businesses with all aspects of bookkeeping and accounts.

I set up CSS Bookkeeping because I wanted to offer small businesses a more personal and flexible service. I enjoy getting to know how a business actually works, rather than expecting every client to fit into the same way of doing things.

Outside of work, I'm a mum and wife and live in Yorkshire with my family. You can often find me out and about with my husband, toddler and dog in tow. As a working mum myself, I understand that running a business has to fit around work, family and everyday life — and that the traditional Monday-to-Friday, nine-to-five doesn't always work for everyone.

That flexibility carries through to the way I work with my clients. You're welcome to contact me outside normal office hours and, if I can't answer at the time, I'll get back to you as soon as I'm available. I also offer occasional weekend availability where needed, which can be particularly helpful for clients who find it difficult to deal with their accounts during the working week.

I like to keep things straightforward too. Whether you use cloud accounting software, spreadsheets, a traditional cashbook or arrive with a box of paperwork, you'll receive friendly, practical support without unnecessary jargon.

My aim is simple: to keep your finances organised, explain things clearly and give you one less thing to worry about when you're running your business.

Professional standards are important to me, and I continue to invest in my training and professional development to make sure the services I provide are supported by up-to-date knowledge and experience.
